Creating your dream nursery is a cinch when you focus on baby nursery themes. Many moms to be already have their dream nursery in mind, but are unsure of how to get started. Following the previous post about nursery decoration, today we will give a few suggestions to get you started:

The best way to get an idea for your nursery theme is by selecting the baby bedding that best reflects your unique style. Choose a main print that will set the tone for the whole room. Be sure to think long term and select a baby nursery theme that will accommodate your child as he/she grows.

Nursery Baby

Next, decide on accessories and wall treatments that complement the bedding colors, print and fabrics. These decorative elements help to tie the nursery theme together. Decide on a focal point for the baby nursery. Many choose the bed as the main point of interest. You can use some imagination when deciding on the focal point too. If your child loves princesses, you could choose a headboard that resembles a castle.

Add an area rug to provide accent colors that help tie the nursery theme together. Choose furniture that grows with your child. Don’t forget a rocker or glider for you and baby to sit in. There will be many days and nights spent rocking and singing or reading to your new baby.

Invest in storage space. Organizing all of baby’s necessities is a cinch with a storage system. Be sure to save a place to display your child’s artwork, collections and projects. Shelves are a great way to display your child’s collection and keep it picked up off the floor.

Planning a baby nursery can be an overwhelming task. The above steps break this process down into seven manageable tasks to help you plan your dream nursery.

With the recent focus on organic living and eco-friendly products, many parents have become interested in creating non-toxic, natural living spaces for their children. Creating an eco-friendly or organic baby nursery is a smart move not only for your baby, but for your family and the environment as well.

It’s natural to want everything in the baby nursery to be new and beautiful for your precious newborn. But new and beautiful doesn’t necessarily mean safe. Traditional furniture, paints and fabrics may have chemicals and toxins that may be unhealthy for your baby.

Luckily, stores and online boutiques are offering more eco-friendly options for furniture. Here are five smart purchases to make when creating your organic baby nursery.

A Natural Wood Crib

Consider purchasing a sustainable natural wood crib with a non-toxic finish.

An Organic Crib Mattress

To promote your baby’s health and safety, look for organic crib mattresses that are made from certified-organic materials and fabrics.

Organic Crib Bedding

To ensure that your baby’s sensitive skin is not exposed to toxins in regular cotton bedding, consider organic baby bedding made from natural, organic fabrics and eco-friendly dyes.

Eco-friendly Carpet and Flooring

To avoid bringing sunch kind of allergens into your baby’s room, look for healthier alternatives such as eco-friendly hardwoods, bamboo and cork floorings or rugs made of natural fibers.

Eco-friendly Paint

Look for low-voc, zero-voc or milk-based paints made of natural non-toxic elements.

Decorating your baby’s nursery can be a wonderful way to prepare for your baby’s arrival. With careful consideration to these key design elements, your baby’s nursery will be the healthy, nurturing environment that you desire.

While seeking on ideas for your baby’s nursery, may be you want to read other articles about baby shower games in this Infant Learning site.

By: Ray J. Walberg

If you have a new baby on the way then decorating the nursery is key to prepare for your baby’s arrival. You’ll want to decide on a budget and then take an inventory of everything you need for your nursery. You’ll need furniture such as a crib, lighting for the room, paint for the walls, pictures to go up, bedding for the crib, and shades or drapes to cover the windows. You’ll probably be focused first and foremost on the crib. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend then try to find your furniture on the cheap.

Baby Nursery Furniture

You can go to thrift stores or flea markets to find furniture. You could also ask around to your family and friends for any baby furniture they may have for you to use. You can get a great crib at a garage sale too. You should also look at large retailers like Walmart or Target for a good crib. You can save a lot of money shopping at a big store like this.

You can also consider buying Baby Dream Furniture if you have a tight budget to work with. They have a great selection of furniture to choose from and you find it in over 300 stores all over the US. If you want a more refined and elegant look than discover Pali. Pali is an Italian brand that makes lovely baby furniture that would look great in any nursery.

Another great brand to try out is Delta Baby Furniture which combines a great look with high quality. You will want to buy their products if you want something really durable.

Once you have your furniture all sorted then you can decorate your nursery as you wish. Do the furniture part first and then work on the walls and the wall hangings. You’ll want to have the furniture selected before you choose the décor since it is the most important part of the room.

Decorating A Baby Nursery: A Few Essentials
By: Michael Holland

Baby Nursery Wall

You’re expecting a child and suddenly you need to find the time and the budget for decorating a baby nursery. However, before unleashing your credit cards, there are a few essentials you should take into consideration when decorating a baby nursery before you get into grander themes and strategies.

A Pleasing Color Scheme

This should be your first consideration when decorating a baby nursery. Pale yellows, lilacs, or cream colors are a good foundation and will be suitable for both boys and girls, infants and toddlers.

A Sturdy Rocking Chair

If you are decorating a baby nursery, you absolutely must include a rocking chair. You will find this item to be a sanity saver as your baby finally falls asleep in your arms. And you may even drift off yourself if the rocker is sufficiently comfy.

A High Quality Crib

In decorating a baby nursery, the most crucial element is the crib. Do not cut corners in terms of your budget on this piece. The crib must be of the best quality you can afford and certifiably safe for infants.

Assorted Linens

Use your baby linens to change the look of the room when decorating a baby nursery. Sew or buy a number of washable duvets so you can change them often and wash them easily.

These are the fundamentals to get you started on decorating a baby nursery. After you have your color scheme and basic furnishings, you can move on to the fun, incredibly cute design elements available for decorating baby nurseries.

Planning for a baby nursery is always ideal to welcome a new member of the family. Typically, baby nurseries are created and designed for babies. This is a room where your infant can rest safely and securely. Also, the baby’s belongings and necessities are included in this room. Such things are cabinets, cribs, stools, high chairs, changing tables and other furniture. Added are infant’s clothing, toys, layettes and other infant’s supplies.

Furniture, as mentioned earlier are those that are very useful and functional for babies. These supplies are designed to ease the process of raising babies. Items such as cribs and high chairs are used to securely hold the baby. However, before buying these furniture, you should always check first their quality as well as the durability of the construction. Some of these furniture can be deceiving at first glance, but don’t make a mistake of disregarding their hidden unsafe structure and malfunctions. For instance, check whether there are visible head nailsor broken parts.

With regards to infant clothing and layettes, these supplies are very essential for infants to cover their sensitive soft skin. Also, these items shield them under hot or cold temperature of the weather. Clothing and layettes such as 1 piece or 2 piece suits, pajamas, socks, hats, bibs, beddings and the like should come in pure natural fabric. Considering organic materials for these clothing can prevent babies for having health problems like skin irritation.

Also, you should include organic food products. It is very unsafe for your little one to eat foods that are not intended for them, especially since we are now living in a world surrounded by chemically made products. Therefore, you should be more considerate and see to it that you raise your little one in a safe and secure manner. Recipes and processes to make a home-made infant’s food can be found in parenting guide magazines, though there are specialty stores where you could also buy organic foods and supplies. You may also consider researching using the Internet, there you will have different options for different recipes and procedures on how to make baby foods. You might try asking your nutritionist and other health practitioners for their ideas and suggestions.

There are still different kinds of supplies and products for babies that are widely available. Today, creative and unique baby gifts are also available. You may see personalized baby clothing, themed furniture and accessories. These are all creatively customized to make a perfect welcoming gift for a newborn child. These items can also be presented during his/her baptismal, first birthday or Christmas day. Such cool ideas are great options to show your love to your baby. You may consider Personalized Blanket set, Growth Chart, Diaper Bag Kit, Laundry Bag, Board Books and Frames, Stool and others. These are all available at your nearest specialty stores and have wider options in online stores. From these personalized items, you can create a gift basket. You can have your self-made baby basket out of your resources at home. Then, you can fill it with personalized clothing, layettes, toys and foods.
